LYRICS

Oh Sedna and Aurora,

Sisters of the sea and sky
In your loving arms enfolded
Our Nunavut lies.

And in the night Aurora Borealis
Performs her dance of coloured veils
Beneath the stars of the celestial palace
To music sung by Sedna’s whales.

And the dawn
In day’s anticipation
Breaks the hold of mantled night
Aurora pauses in her animation
And fades away into the light.

Oh Sedna and Aurora,
Sisters of the sea and sky
In your loving arms enfolded
Our Nunavut lies.

Sedna rises through the icy waters
Calling forth into the deep
The creatures stir
Her many sons and daughters
While Aurora drifts into sleep.

I feel the air
The silent resonation
In rhythmic pulse
Across the land
I am transfixed
In stony meditation
I am Inuksuk, here I stand.

Oh Sedna and Aurora,
Sisters of the sea and sky
In your loving arms enfolded
Our Nunavut lies.
