WINTER CAROL
featuring Trinity Western University Chamber Choir; director: Dr. Joel Tranquilla
LYRICS
It’s winter now, and fallen snow has left the heav’ns all coldly clear;
through the leafless boughs, the sharp winds blow, And earth lies dead and drear.
But yet God’s love is not withdrawn; His life within the keen air breathes;
God’s beauty paints the crimson dawn, and turns the boughs to glitt’ring wreaths.
And though abroad the sharp winds blow, and skies are chill, and frosts are keen;
Home closer draws her circle now and warmly glows her light within.
God gives the winter’s cold. God’s love our hearts enfold.
While loudly sounds the angels’ hymn: “Good will to all on earth!”
O God who gives us the winter’s cold, As well as summer’s joyous rays.
Enfold us in your caring arms and keep us through life’s wintry days.
The changing seasons come and go in wonder of God’s love.
