HER EYES ON THE HORIZON
we hope to replace this simulation with genuine voices soon
LYRICS
What a coincidence
our firmament fixtures
(permanent pictures, sources of light)
are roughly the shape of our sources of sight.
I can’t solve this riddle, but sorcerers might,
and I can’t help but sorcerers might,
and I can’t help but think
as I stand on the brink
of the sea with a shell at my ear that the shell
(which appears to my sources of sight like an ear)
might be hearing the sound of the ocean as well…
Which is sea? Which is shell? Which is ear? I can’t tell,
and I won’t even think on the subject of smell,
which leads to the problem of breathing out here,
on the brink of
what I think of
as the sea.
