LYRICS

Have you seen a shooting star?

As the sun silently slips away
As the twilight spreads, steadily above our heads
You left the city’s glare
Its bright lights that cloud the air.

Have you seen a shooting star?
Take a special trip with me
Out to where the sky is free
Of artificial points of light,
To where the stars shine clear and bright!

Lie back and gaze into the heavens.
Watch the universe unfold.

Stars glittering in the black of night
Ancient suns send their twinkling light.
Planets shine as they spin through space;
The family of the sun reflect her steady gaze.

But have you seen a shooting star?
Meteor streaking swiftly ‘cross the heavenly sphere,
Flashing, brilliant, beautiful, it seems so near.

Lasting only moments ’til it fades away,
Burning in my memory through the light of day.
Have you seen a shooting star?
