LYRICS

It’s the sound of children that’s music to my ears
It’s the touch of new hands that chase away my fears
I can feel God’s love come streaming through a baby’s eyes
and I’m lost in the present paradise

When I’m in a garden where growing things abound
When I’m on a mountain and God is all around
I can feel the Spirit reaching out to take me by the hand
and be led to the child within the man.

Through the children we seem to see ourselves
creatures of society of poverty and wealth.
“Be like the children”, are the words I hear him say.
Seems the child in me was nearer yesterday.

Dreamed of being back where I was born, the same old street
Had a friend named Jesus, we’re playing hide and seek
and He always seemed to find me in my secret hiding place
as it shone in the presence of His grace.

It’s the sound of children that’s music to my ears
It’s the touch of new hands that chase away my fears
I can feel God’s love come streaming through a baby’s eyes
and I’m lost in the present paradise
