LYRICS

When l feel a growing need for
respite and repose
these rugged mountains call to me
to roam such wild immensity
beneath resplendent skies

A tracery of timeworn trails

winds through stalwart spires
skirts meadow swath past rocky streams
to an unknown place beyond

Now filled with exhilaration,
yet still serene and calm
I wonder paths unhurried
both transfixed and transformed

Even stillness has its music
throughout nature’s domain
each resonant call a harkening

to seek what can be found

ln a lifetime of searching without and within
this eternal quest yields a simple truth
we breathe most free where wildness lives
