REVOICING

ReVoicing a choral composition takes time and skill (years of study and experience – for a keen understanding of sweet spot vocal registers, intuitive voice-leading, etc). Some Cypress composers, like Mark Sirett, automatically set their compositions for SATB, SSA and TBB options.  SAB is an perfect option for choirs that are short on guys.  Also SSAA and TTBB, for choirs that are strong in each section.

Starting in 2010, Cypress charged $350 for a revoicing – which can take two or three days to accomplish. That baseline price has not changed for compositions that are 4 to 8 pages in length. Compositions that are 12 to 20 pages need much more work – and Cypress might negotiate a higher fee.

If a choir is happy to pay for a revoicing, Cypress would quickly add that purchase option to the respective web page. ReVoicing would begin after the scores are ordered and the revoicing fee is paid – and the finished product would b sent to the director in timely fashion (asap).

Most Cypress composers are happy to revoice their compositions. Sometimes they trust Dr. Nickel to do the work for them.

HERE IS A GREAT DEAL OPTION: If a choir needs a revoicing for one song and can select/order two or more other pieces from the catalogue at the same time, Cypress can wave the revoicing fee. (saving $350)

Don’t hesitate to contact Cypress – for any reason.  We are here to serve you. – Larry
