La Virgen lava pañales,
Y los tiende en el romero
Y los pajaritos cantan,
Y el agua se variendo.

Pastores, venid. Pastores, llegad.
Adorar al Niño, a adorar al Niño.

El Niño, Dios, se ya perdido,
Y todos le están buscando.

A la orilla del mar peces estaba pescando

The Virgin washes swaddling clothes,
while the Child is sleeping.
And the little birds sing,
And the brook is sighing.

Shepherds, come, shepherds arrive.
to worship the infant
who has just been born.

The Child of God is missing
and everyone sought Him –
only to find the Child by the waters – fishing.
