Child of wonder, child of mine
sleeping softly at Christmas time

waiting for Santa
still as could be.

Came on tip-toe from your bed
“Heard the rein-deer outside”, you said.
“Could I sit beside you just for a peek?”
Waiting for Santa,
we both fell asleep.

Will Santa still be a hero
will you still hear the reindeer loud and clear,
and will Christmas still be a time of wonder
this time next year?
