LYRICS

The setting sun vacates the sky
The clouds recede, so stars may fly
The noise of life begins to quietly depart
The moon is new, the sky is dark

When suddenly there streaks a spark
A speck of dust, its blaze more glorious than its start
Lying in silence, side by side
Unfocused eyes, hearts open wide

The starlight softly, gently washing through your soul
No words are spoken: who could try
To tame the wonder of the sky
An awe-filled majesty that none can quite extol

The hours have passed, the world has turned
The final shooting star has burned
And as your eyes adjust you suddenly feel small
And then it hits: the truth sublime

That you are staring back in time
Illumination that is older than us all
And if the starlight can impart
Through humble stirring of your heart

The inspiration that we never are alone
Then revelation shall impress
That life is far from meaningless
And though the world will end, your fate is still your own.
