High Flight

by Michael Mikulin

SATB with piano – CP 2276 – duration 3:15

Michael has written a terrific, very choral, very approachable setting of a famous poem. Intuitive voice leading and rich harmonies bring the text to life.
Poet, John Gillespie Magee Jr., (1922 – 1941) was a World War II Anglo-American Royal Canadian Air Force fighter pilot and war poet, who wrote the sonnet “High Flight”. He was killed in an accidental mid-air collision over England in 1941.
