Empyrean: Wonder of the Sky

SSAATTBB a cappella – CP 2570 – duration 6:40
Empyrean: Wonder of the Sky tells the story of a wonderful evening watching a meteor shower in northern British Columbia, contemplating the vastness of space and the briefness of human existence. Space is big, and we are very young. On the grand scale of the universe we are impossibly tiny, and we have existed for only the blink of an eye – and that’s ok. The realization ought to humble us, but it should not diminish anything that we decide, or anything that we achieve. It should serve only to provide wonder and amazement, and to make us aware that we are part of something greater than ourselves.
The clouds recede, so stars may fly
The noise of life begins to quietly depart
The moon is new, the sky is dark
A speck of dust, its blaze more glorious than its start
Lying in silence, side by side
Unfocused eyes, hearts open wide
