A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Ryan LaRue is a freelance organist, pianist and composer. From the age of nine, he has worked as a church musician, serving over a dozen parishes on both continuous and supply bases. He has had the opportunity of accompanying and aiding in the direction of numerous choirs, most notably the Finnish Male Chorus “Kaleva”. In addition, Ryan has worked as a music instructor, teaching piano, theory and voice to young children. He specializes in writing and arranging works for choral performance, as well as solo works for the piano and organ. Ryan is currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering and Management from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

A Prayer in Spring brings to life Robert Frost’s timeless poem, and is sure to delight audiences of all ages. Mirroring the pastoral text through expressive lines and simple harmonies, this work reflects Frost’s views of the splendor of Creation in the spring. Scored for SATB choir with piano accompaniment, A Prayer in Spring also features a solo instrument which ‘converses’ in dialogue with the piano.
